First thing I ran across this morning was a well written and compelling essay at Classically Liberal.  It points out recent spree shootings and their respective prevention/mitigating factors.  Armed students and faculty and civilians.  In point of fact, I had no idea that these other instances had occurred, with the exception of the Trolley Square shootout.  Needless to say, read it.

In other news, someone is exploiting the Virginia Tech shooting for their own political gain, and it’s Carolyn McCarthy.  Surprise, surprise…not.  HR 1859 is dubbed the “Anti-Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device Act of 2007″.  You folks in free America should start stocking up on CProducts and HK mags.  I’d like to order a couple cases of Magpul PMAG’s, but well, I can’t.  Not that I think this bill will ever get enough cosponsors, and it will never make it out of committee with the Dems acknowledging that gun control is a losing issue, but still - you can’t have too  many, right?

Notice the date HR 1859 was introduced - can you say exploitation?  Dancing in the blood of innocents?  Don’t even wait for the bodies to cool, Carolyn - just pushpushpush that agenda.
